(Sarasota-Manatee,
FL) The Women’s Resource Center’s 2020 Spring
Legacy Luncheon is Wednesday, April 15, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the
Hyatt Regency Sarasota, 1000 Blvd. of the Arts, Sarasota. The annual event
celebrates outstanding women, or “Wonder Women,” in Sarasota and Manatee
counties. WRC will also celebrate the legacy of the area-based philanthropist Gloria
Milstein Flanzer, who passed away in 2013. Tickets are $100 and $200 (patron), and available for purchase at MyWRC.org/SLL.Sponsorship opportunities are also
available. The event is chaired by former WRC Wonder Women, Amanda Horne,
Heather Kasten and Umbreen Khalidi-Majeed. The 2017 Wonder Woman honoree, Emily
Walsh,
will lead a panel discussion at the event. For more information
or to purchase tickets, contact Anne Carter at 941-256-9721 or
acarter@mywrc.org.

The 2020 Wonder Women are: Rae Dowling, an area
manager in the southwest service territory for Florida Power and Light; Lisa
Krouse,
the chief administrative officer at FCCI Insurance Group; Victoria
Stultz,
a real estate executive; and Marilyn Thompson, a retired
human resources executive with more than 30 years of global human resources
management experience at General Electric, GlaxoSmithKline, and Johnson &
Johnson.

Gloria Milstein Flanzer will be honored at the event, as
well. Flanzer was deeply committed to philanthropy in the Sarasota community,
supporting social service, health and education agencies.

“Gloria believed strongly in the power of giving and
inspired others in leadership to support their community,” says Ashley Brown,
president and CEO of the Women’s Resource Center. “The Louis and Gloria
Philanthropic Trust is dedicated to providing nonprofits in the Suncoast region
with vital support. As the only woman in her family business, Gloria acutely
felt the importance that women have a voice and that voice be respected. She
consistently invested in programs that assist women in overcoming roadblocks.
The Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust’s commitment to the WRC is an
important part of her legacy.”

“We look forward to celebrating these wonderful,
trailblazing women,” adds Brown, who explains that Wonder Women are “women
leaders who have made outstanding contributions in volunteer and/or
professional activities in the areas of business, community leadership,
education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, or lifetime achievement.”
