Top-10 Finish in the Books for Kiira Riihijarvi

HOUSTON – University of Tampa women’s golfer Kiira Riihijarvi concluded the 2018 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships among the top individuals in the nation with her second top-10 finish in as many years.
The sophomore from Oulu, Finland led all participants in eagles and also carded the best par-5 average in the tournament. In four rounds of play, Riihijarvi carded rounds of 69, 77, 73 and 76 for a total of 295. Her +7 score was nine shots from national champion Katharina Keilich of Indianapolis, who was the lone player under par and won by two strokes.
After finishing ninth overall at the 2017 championships and seventh this season, Riihijarvi remains the lone player in program history to compete at the championships.
Overall, Riihijarvi finished the four-day event with two eagles and 10 birdies.
