ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week women’s golf took home first place at the Colorado Mesa Invitational. This was the team’s first tournament of the season, taking down 16 other squads. Women’s soccer finished the week 1-0-1, earning their first conference win of the 2018 season over Eckerd College, before drawing with Palm Beach Atlantic. Men’s soccer also defeated the Tritons 2-1, but then lost to the No. 5 ranked Sailfish in overtime by the same score. The No. 12 ranked volleyball team ended the week 2-0, sweeping both the No. 3 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish, and the Nova Southeastern Sharks. The women’s cross country team competed at the Mountain Dew Invitational, where the team took home first place, while the men’s team ran in the Chile Pepper Festival, finishing 17th of 49 teams.
This Week’s Events:
Men’s Cross Country:
The men’s cross country team will travel to Lakeland, Fla. this weekend to run at the Florida Runners Invitational. The race will take place in Holloway Park on Saturday, September, 29th at 8:15 a.m.
Men’s Golf:
Today and tomorrow the men’s golf team opens up their 2018 season at the Griffin Invitational at The Players Club in Lutz, Florida. Rounds one and two take place today, while round three will close out the tournament tomorrow.
Men’s Soccer:
On Saturday, men’s soccer will host SSC rival, Florida Southern. This game will take place at Pepin Stadium and is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Men’s and Women’s Swimming:
Both the men’s and women’s swim team will kick off their 2018 season with their Intersquad meet on Sunday, September 30th. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Women’s Cross Country:
Friday, the women’s cross country team will run at the Florida Runners Invitational. The race will take place in Lakeland, Florida beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Women’s Soccer:
On Wednesday, the women’s soccer team welcomes Florida National for a 7:00 p.m. showdown. Then on Saturday, the women travel to Florida Southern for another 7:00 p.m. start time.
Volleyball:
The volleyball team will take the road again this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday against Lynn and Barry respectively. The game against the Fighting Knights will begin at 7:00 p.m. while the game against the Buccaneers will take place at 4:00 p.m.
