ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week women’s volleyball kicked off the 2018 season with a 4-0 record at the Raven First Serve Invitational in Rindge, N. H. The squad defeated the University of New Haven in five, swept both Franklin Pierce and LIU Post, and then finished the weekend with a 3-1 win over Grand Valley State. Also last week, the women’s soccer team scrimmaged Daytona State where the Spartans won 2-0.
This Week’s Events:
Cross Country:
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the Valdosta State Invitational in on Friday, August 31st in Valdosta, Ga.
Men’s Soccer:
Men’s soccer will compete in their home opener on Friday against the University of West Florida Argonauts. The game will take place at Pepin Stadium at 7:00 P.M. Then on Sunday, UT welcomes Spring Hill for a 3:00 P.M. shootout.
Women’s Soccer:
Also on Friday, the women’s soccer team will kick off their 2018 season playing the West Alabama Tigers in Livingston, Ala. This game is slated to begin at 6:00 P.M. From Livingston, the women will then travel to Clinton, Mississippi where they will compete against Mississippi College, Sunday at noon.
Volleyball:
This weekend, volleyball will host the 2018 Courtyard Marriott Classic. In their home opener on Friday, UT welcomes West Texas A&M for a 3:00 P.M. matchup, followed by a 7:00 P.M. showdown against the Catawba Indians. The Spartans will then return to action Saturday with games against Drury and Ferris State at 12:45 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. respectively.
