Kiira Riihijarvi Set to Represent Finland at World Amateur Team Championships

MAYNOOTH, Ireland – University of Tampa junior women’s golfer Kiira Riihijarvi will head to Ireland for the World Amateur Team Championships to play for her home country of Finland.
A native of Oulu, Finland, Riihijarvi won this summer’s Finnish Championship while placing fifth at the European Championship. This came after her second All-American performance for the Spartans. At the 2018 NCAA Division II Championships in Houston, she finished seventh overall to conclude her sophomore season.
The World Amateur Team Championship will take place at Carton House, in Maynooth, near Dublin, from August 29 to September 8. Riihijarvi will compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy, starting August 29 and commencing on September 1.
The world comes to Carton House for the World Amateur Team Championships in 2018, marking the first staging of this iconic event in Ireland since the championship was first played at St Andrews in 1958.
