Hot Start Continues as Men’s Cross Country Wins FIT Invite

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s cross country team followed up a first-place finish at the Valdosta State Invitational with a first-place effort at the 2018 Florida Tech Invitational.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- The top-finish by Weber marks the first time he has won a collegiate race.
- Kattenberg was the second runner to finish after being the individual champion at last week’s Valdosta State race.
- Individuals Brendan Twiggs (11th), Sean Popik (12th) Sam Schaeffer (17th) and James Dooley (19th) also finished in the top-20.
- A total of six teams competed.
- UT and host Florida Tech were joined by fellow Sunshine State Conference opponents Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic and Rollins.
- Tampa entered a total of 15 runners in the men’s race.
