“Career Connections” Event on
March 25

Company representatives
from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch will provide information about career
pathways and the employee development programs offered at their organizations
in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.

(Sarasota-Manatee)
As part of its monthly Career Connections program to link women to quality jobs
and funded trainings, the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is partnering with Bank
of America and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in a free event that will offer
women information about local career and job opportunities, including entry-level
positions with starting wages of $20 an hour. Representatives from Bank of
America and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management will be on hand to explain the
career pathways and employee development programs offered at their locations in
Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties. A college degree is not required,
though candidates must have strong customer service and Microsoft Office
skills.
WRC is hosting this information session Wednesday,
March 25, 1-3 p.m., at its Sarasota center, 340 S. Tuttle Avenue. No
registration is required. To learn more about this program or other services
available at WRC, call 941-256-9721 or visit mywrc.org.

According to WRC, the expansion of the local
financial sector job market has led employers to offer competitive wages that
reflect the region’s increased cost of living.

“The yearly minimum rate of pay for a full-time
Bank of America employee will increase to more than $41,000 a year,” explains Mike
McCoy, the Sarasota/Manatee market president for Bank of America. “This does
not include the value of our healthcare and wellness benefits, which are
significant, additional components of the total rewards that all employees
receive.”

 “We
appreciate Bank of America’s commitment to invest philanthropically in the regional
community through its generous grant giving, and to provide quality jobs with
family-sustaining wages,” says WRC CEO Ashley Brown.
