Al fresco dinner gathers gourmet restaurants and 1,000-plus friends of public broadcasting
TAMPA, Fla. (March 9, 2020) – Tickets are now on sale for WUSF Public Media’s hugely popular Longest Table outdoor gala fundraiser this April 16 in St. Petersburg.  The annual event sells out quickly, and WUSF Public Media members now have first access to tickets, with public availability starting March 12. All funds raised go to support the NPR station WUSF 89.7 that broadcasts programs such as “Morning Edition” and “Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me,” plus Florida’s classical music station, WSMR 89.1 and 103.9.
Tickets are available online at WUSFLT.org or by calling 1-800-661-0823.
Guests can select their preferred menu in advance from among a dozen amazing restaurants. At the dinner, chefs from each restaurant serve a gourmet four-course meal paired with fine wines. In St. Petersburg, Bayshore Drive is closed to traffic, and the table stretches 400 yards from the Vinoy hotel to the Museum of Fine Arts, creating a truly memorable waterfront dining experience.
“This is a wonderful event that brings together the fantastic supporters of WUSF Public Media with some of the most amazing restaurants in this region,” said WUSF Public Media General Manager JoAnn Urofsky. “This is the premiere event to support news, music and public affairs in this area, and we are so grateful that so many people have come to join the cause and enjoy a wonderful night to remember.”
The dinner represents the annual fundraising event for public broadcasting in Tampa Bay, and tickets range from $150 – $185. Tickets will be available at the website WUSFLT.org
