ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week men’s golf finished in the top ten at the Miami Intercollegiate in Doral, Florida. The men’s soccer team wrapped their 2018 season with a 4-0 win over the Saint Leo Lions. The squad ended their season with an overall record of 3-7-4. The women’s soccer team also closed out regular season play with a victory over the Lions, 3-0. Tonight, the team will play in the first round of the SSC tournament against the Embry-Riddle Eagles. Currently, the Spartans sit with an overall record of 7-5-4. The No. 4 ranked women’s volleyball team ended last week with a 2-1 record. Then Spartans defeated both Rollins College Tars and Nova Southeastern Sharks in straight sets, before losing their first conference game of the year to the No. 17 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish in four sets. Both the nationally ranked men’s and women’s swim teams took on nationally ranked conference rival, Florida Southern. The No. 18 Spartans fell to the No. 7 Moccasins by a final score of 148-114. The No. 5 ranked women’s team continued to show conference dominance, defeating the No. 17 Mocs 171-84.
This Week’s Events:
Men’s Golf:
The men’s golf team is on the road, in Orlando, Florida competing at the McDonough Cup at the Rio Pinar Country Club. Rounds one and two of the tournament commence today with round three closing out the competition tomorrow.
Men’s Basketball:
On Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., the Spartans will kick off their 2018-19 season with a scrimmage against the University of South Florida.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country:
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams will run at the SSC Championships on Saturday, November 3rd in Daytona Beach, Florida. The men’s race will take place at 7:45 a.m. followed by the women’s race at 8:45 a.m.
Women’s Basketball:
The women’s basketball team will scrimmage Hillsborough Community College Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Women’s Golf:
The women’s golf team is on the road, competing in the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Round one of the tournament will take place today, with the competition closing out tomorrow.
Women’s Soccer:
Tonight, the women’s soccer team will host the Embry-Riddle Eagles for the first round of the SSC tournament. The game is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Pepin Stadium. If the Spartans prevail, they will play in the SSC Semifinals Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Women’s Tennis:
The tennis team will host St. Petersburg College Friday, November 1st at 3:00 p.m.
Volleyball:
Tampa Volleyball will host their last two conference matches this weekend on Friday and Saturday respectively. First, on Friday, the Spartans will welcome the Barry Buccaneers for a start time of 7:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, UT will be honoring it’s four seniors, taking on the Lynn University Fighting Knights at 4:00 p.m.
