TAMPA (March 10, 2020)—More than 2,000 newspapers have closed in the past 15 years, and thousands of reporting jobs have been cut. With fewer eyes on everything from City Hall to the nation’s capital, how will we know what our politicians are doing? Join us March 27 when a panel of veteran journalists examines the future of political journalism.

Our all-star panel will feature Eric Deggans, TV critic for National Public Radio; Wayne Garcia, USF journalism instructor and former director of the Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications; Mitch Perry, political reporter for Bay News 9; Peter Schorsch, president of Extensive Enterprises Media and publisher and executive editor of FloridaPolitics.com; and Mary Shedden, news director at WUSF Public Media. 

The luncheon meeting will be at the Cuban Club ballroom, 2010 North Avenida Republica De Cuba (14th Street). Registration begins at 11:15 a.m., lunch will be served at 11:40 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at noon. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Only members can ask questions. Annual memberships are $75.
