FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 12 University of Tampa Spartans swept the Nova Southeastern Sharks by set scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-17. Now 6-0 in the SSC, the Spartans remain the only team undefeated in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Katie McKiel was on fire offensively for the Spartans. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native ended the match hitting an outstanding .486, earning 18 kills on 35 total attacks. Additionally, she logged 13 digs for the Spartans. Taylor Fosler also had a lights-out game, hitting .538 with eight kills on the evening. Sophomore, Melissa Elias also recorded a double-double for UT, with 12 assists and 11 digs. Junior Nicole Dominguez suited up as libero for the Spartans, earning a team-high of 19 total digs. 

 

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Katie McKiel led the Spartans in kills for the night with a total of 18. In addition to her 13 digs, McKiel earned her ninth double-double of the season. 

• Nicole Dominguez led the Spartans in digs with 19.

• Sammy Mueller recorded a total of 27 assists.

• Melissa Elias recorded the only double-double of the night with 10 assists and 10 digs.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
Tampa leads the all-time series against the Sharks 32-1.
