Tampa Swimming Set for Matchup of Ranked Teams
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s and women’s swimming teams are set to welcome Nova Southeastern University in a battle of nationally-ranked teams. The matchup is part of an eventful weekend for the Spartans, who also welcome their swimming alumni for Homecoming Weekend.
Men’s Matchup: No. 18 Tampa Spartans vs. No. 12 Nova Southeastern Sharks
Women’s Matchup: No. 5 Tampa Spartans vs. No. 3 Nova Southeastern Sharks
Date/Time: Saturday, October 20 at 10 a.m.

Last Time Out: Tampa went on the road and overwhelmed Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins College on Saturday in Winter Park, Fla. UT’s men emerged with a 181-81 win while the women tallied a lopsided 196-66 victory.
About the Spartans: The Spartans are coming off a meet where the women took first in 12 races, and the top-three spots in seven of the events. The Spartan men took 10 first-place finishes and claimed the top-three spots in four races. Junior Luke Hene had two individual first-place finishes in the 200 Free (1:46.74) and 500 Free (51.02). He was also part of a win in the 400 Medley Relay (3:31.42). Molly O’Hara paced the Spartans women with a first-place time of 54.31 in the 100 Free. She also won two relays in the 400 Medley Relay (3:58.02) and the 200 Free Relay (1:39.70).
About the Sharks: Both NSU teams placed first at the Shark Invitational. Shark swimmers Emma Sundstedt and Alessandro Xella also brought home the most total individual points, earning the Michael D. Fish Men’s and Women’s High Point Award with 74 points and 76 points, respectively.
