TAMPA, Fla. – The ninth-ranked University of Tampa Spartans battled with the 17th ranked Limestone College Saints on Wednesday night game at Naimoli Stadium. UT used a complete team effort as they claimed a 16-5 victory.

All-time Series: Limestone still holds the series overall 5-2. Tampa has now taken two games in a row from Limestone.

How It Happened:
First Half
The Spartans jumped out to an early lead on the Saints as Carly Vaccaro and Kristyn Staley scored the first two goals of the half to go up 2-0. The Saints were able to score the next goal as their leading scorer Britannie Ouimet would net the goal. Tampa would then go on a run spanning the final 22:53, as they would score the next seven goals in the half to head into the break with a big lead. || UT 9-1
Second Half:
The Spartans would continue their run into the second half as they would score the first point to go up 10-1 on Limestone. LC would score the next two goals on the Spartans as they were able to cut the lead back down to seven goals at 10-3. Tampa would shut the door on any comeback hopes Limestone would have as the next five goals were netted by Spartan players to go up by 12 goals. After the Saints scored two goals, the final goal came from Vaccaro to close the night out. || UT 16-5
Inside the Stats
- Carly Vaccaro would lead the way with four goals in the game.
- Cece Colombo finished the game with five points as she dished out four assists and scored one goal.
- Maddie Gladden would record a hat trick in the game as she scored three goals.
- Bridget Sutter had a big game as she would only allow one goal while she was between the pipes and recorded 11 saves.
- As a team, Tampa would collect 13 groundballs compared to Limestone’s 11.
