Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America has convened its 35th annual convention at the St. John’s University, New Year on July 1-4, 2022. Three highlighted events hosted at the convention were our Tampa Bay Tamil Academy students swept away with a national championship. In the “Flowers (or Malargal in Tamil) Tamil Bee Competitions category, our students, Yazhini Ajeeth Singh and Athisraj Amirtharaj won first prize. In the category of “Buds” (or “Arumbukal” in Tamil), our students Dhanesh Anand and Suhana Prakash won Third Prize after successfully executing the “tie-breaker” question. In the category of non-classical dance competition (ages between 5 and 8 years) of “Good Morning (or Vanakkam in Tamil) North America, our student Dhanusri Rajesh won second prize. All these students have brought “national fame” to our Tampa Bay Tamil Academy (TBTA), a 501.c.3 non-profit schools missioning to educate the Classical Language, “Tamil” to kids living in the United States of America and Canada. TBTA extends thanks and acknowledgments to the Event Trainer cum coordinator Mr. Ajeet Sigh Kumaresan, and the parents and teachers of all student participants. Out of 70 Tamil Schools around the nation that have participated in this year’s FeTNA competitions, it is a monumental victory and a significant milestone touched by the Tampa Bay Tamil Academy being named as the National Champions (https://tamiltheni.org/).
