Kris Nelson Named NCAA National Statistical Champion

INDIANAPOLIS – University of Tampa senior point guard Kris Nelson was honored by the NCAA as its Division II national statistical champion in assist/turnover ratio at 3.1.
The floor general for the 2019-20 Sunshine State Conference champs concluded her final year with 119 assists while committing just 39 turnovers. In 26 games played, the Augusta, Ga., native also averaged 7.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Nelson led a Spartan team that concluded the season with a record of 24-5 while winning an SSC-record 19 regular-season games. UT was set to begin play at the 2020 NCAA Division II South Regional as the No. 3 seed.
