JFCS of the Suncoast Appoints New Executive Team Members

SARASOTA, FL – (July 11, 2022) JFCS of the Suncoast is excited to announce the appointment of John Frizzell as the new Chief Financial Officer and Keith Leahey as the new Chief of Behavioral Health Services.
John Frizzell, Chief Financial Officer
As the CFO, Frizzell will recommend outcome-driven administrative and fiscal strategies and collaborate with the senior management team to develop a performance-based annual budget. He will oversee risk management operations and the staff in the finance and information technology departments.
Frizzell has spent over 20 years in the finance field at the management and executive levels, primarily in higher education and nonprofits. Prior to joining JFCS, Frizzell was CFO at ABA of Illinois at the Holtz Education Center in Woodridge, Illinois. Before that he held the positions of Executive Director of Finance at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine; Executive Director of Finance and Accounting at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Director of Financial Affairs at Chicago State University; and Director of Finance/Operations for Blue Island Citizens for Development Disabilities in Illinois.
Frizzell earned a bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University in Chicago and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Keith Leahey, Chief of Behavioral Health Services
As the Chief of Behavioral Health Services, Leahey will oversee and further develop JFCS’s counseling and mental health department, aging services, and Jewish healing program. He will also be responsible for JFCS’s community-based mental health services, including the Adolescent Diversion & Assistance Program, Camp Mariposa, and the Voluntary Interim Placement-Enhanced Recovery program.
Leahey comes to JFCS with decades of leadership experience in the mental health and nonprofit fields. Before joining JFCS, Leahey spent 16 years leading the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier in Binghamton, New York, as its CEO. In the early years of his career, he engaged the community as a social worker at the Salvation Army, Heritage Christian Services, and Volunteers of America, all based in New York. Additionally, he has been an educator at State University of New York, Binghamton University, and SUNY Broome.
Leahey earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from The College at Brockport, State University of New York, and a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in administration from Marywood University in Pennsylvania.
