Day One of NCAA Baseball Regional Suspended Due to Weather
LAKELAND – The opening game of the NCAA Division II South Regional made it to the bottom of the seventh inning before a lightning delay sent the teams off the field. A short time later, heavy rains hit the area and the game was suspended with third-seeded Delta State leading No. 6 Mississippi College, 13-2.
The game was eventually suspended and will be resumed Friday, tentatively at 10 a.m., depending on the weather. The remaining two games scheduled for Thursday – #2 Tampa vs. #7 Albany State and #4 Nova Southeastern vs. #5 Montevallo are slated to follow on Friday at times to be determined.
