WINDERMERE, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s golf team had another memorable performance from the nation’s top player, Kiira Riihijarvi, who won another individual championship for the fifth-place Spartans.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- Riihijarvi was the top Spartan golfer for the sixth time in seven tournaments in the 2019-20 season.
- This is the fourth medalist award for Riihijarvi in her senior season and 10th in her career. She remains the lone player in program history to win a tournament.
- Riihijarvi won a scorecard playoff with Florida Southern’s Amanda Gartrell for medalist honors. Working back from No. 18, they matched scores until No. 14, when Riihijarvi had a birdie-3, Gartrell had a par-4.
- A third-round 69 from Riihijarvi was the top individual round for all Spartans.
- Cadavid made her spring debut for the Spartans.
- Head coach Missey Jones also registered freshman Petronella Hjort, who shot a 243 (+27).
- Joining UT and host Rollins (10) from the Sunshine State Conference was Saint Leo (2), Florida Southern (3), Nova Southeastern (4), Barry (6), Embry-Riddle (13) and Eckerd (19).

Tampa has one regular-season tournament remaining in the Barry Invitational on March 23-24. The event will be played at Don Shula’s Golf Club in Miami Lakes, Fla.
