Zoe Jarvis Competes at NCAA Championships
PITTSBURGH – University of Tampa sophomore Zoe Jarvis represented the University of Tampa at the 2018 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at the Fall Festival. The race took place at Schenley Park.
The Tampa, Fla., native weathered wet and muddy conditions to finish the 6K with a time of 27:09.5. She placed 245th in the field of competitors. The All-Sunshine State Conference selection turned in six top-10 finishes this season, helping the Spartans to the 2018 SSC Championship. She would then finish fifth overall at the NCAA South Regional to earn a bid as an individual to the championships.
Grand Valley State University won the national championship, outlasting second-place Mary by 42 points. Lakers’ senior Sarah Berger won the individual title, edging Adams State junior Elish Flanagan in an entertaining final kick. Adams State, Western Colorado and Colorado Mines rounded out the top five in the team standings.
