Wright and Phillips Selected as SSC Players of the Week

Melbourne, Fla. – Two University of Tampa men’s lacrosse players have been selected as Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week. Bryan Wright was elected as offensive player of the week, while Scott Phillips was selected defensive player of the week.
Wright, a senior from Moorestown, N.J., led the Spartans offensive as they defeated #14 Queens University of Charlotte. Wright would score four goals in the 14-10 victory over the Royals. The four goals are tied for a career-high for Wright.
Phillips, a junior from Rolling Hills Estates, California, was selected defensive player of the week after anchoring the Spartan defense. In the victory, Phillips caused a team-high three turnovers and picked up three groundballs.
Wright, Phillips, and the rest of the Spartans will be back in action on Saturday as they host Young Harris College. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Naimoli Field.
