Women’s Lacrosse Sweeps Player of the Week Honors

Melbourne, Fla. – Senior Carly Vaccaro and junior Bridget Sutter have been elected Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week. The two earn the award after leading the No. 5 Spartans to an opening night victory over the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers.
Vaccaro, a senior from Mooresville, North Carolina, was an offensive force for UT as she set a school record with seven goals in the 22-11 victory. In the victory, she would also add three assists, as her 10 total points are tied for a school record. Her seven goals in the game came on seven shot attempts. This is the second time Vaccaro has been named player of the week for her career.
Sutter earned the victory between the pipes for the Spartans. The junior from Evergreen, Colorado picked up 13 saves in the game, while also picking up a career-high eight groundballs. This is the first award this season for Sutter and the sixth time she has been named player of the week in her career.
Vaccaro, Sutter, and the rest of the Spartans will be back in action on February 20th as they travel to Newberry, South Carolina to face off against Newberry College. That game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
