TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s soccer team will play host to Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo University in a mid-week battle.

The Matchup: Tampa Spartans (3-6-1, 2-3-1 SSC) vs. Saint Leo Lions (5-6-1, 2-3 SSC)

About the Spartans: Tampa is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss at the hands of Lynn University on Saturday. Posting an above-.500 SSC slate, the Spartans are winless in their final two contests. Goalkeeper Megan Bromwell has started 10 games for the Spartans, posting a 1.42 GAA and .763 save percentage. She also has four shutouts in her junior season. Freshman Jalyssa Richardson leads UT’s offense with three goals, including a game-winner. Sophomore Moeko Morse adds a pair of goals to go with a team-leading three assists.

About the Lions: Saint Leo is looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to Florida Tech. The Green and Gold offense is led by Carolina Solis-Deleon with five goals followed by Rebecca Anderson, Adriana Tirado and Sydney Chase with two apiece. In the net, Julia Ortiz has tallied 49 saves, 0.754 save percentage, and a 1.34 goals allowed average on her way to a 5-6-1 record.

All-Time Series: Tampa holds a commanding 21-4-3 record in the all-time series. The Spartans posted a 3-0 victory on the road last season following three consecutive ties against their SSC opponent. Saint Leo’s last win over UT was a 2-0 triumph on October 1, 2014, in St. Leo, Fla.
