UT Spends Weekend at John Hunter Regatta

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The University of Tampa rowing team competed at the John Hunter Regatta over the weekend.
The Women’s Varsity 4+ finished fourth in their time trial advancing them on to Petite Finals. In Petite Finals the Varsity 4+ came in fourth place finishing with a time of 9:05.93 losing to High Point, Illinois, and NC State. From stern to bow the rowers were Bridget Maxwell, Kiara Williams, Abbey Grau, Sam Stewart and coxswain Erin Winslow.
The Women’s Lightweight Varsity 4+ came in second place and taking home a medal with a time of 8:20.83, losing first place to Florida by five seconds, but still beating High Point and North Western State University. From stern to bow the rowers were Sarah Manno, Marissa Henderson, Brooke Rogers, Cassie Bricker and coxswain Maxie-Lew Dunn.
The Women’s Novice 8+ finished second in their time trial advancing them on to Grand Finals. In Grand Finals the Women’s Novice 8+ came in 4th place out of 5 boats finishing with a time of 8:18.98 losing to Clemson, UF A boat and Georgia but beating UF B boat. From stern to bow the rowers were Lauren Blake, Kayla Bell, Sienna Gutierrez, Savannah Martin, Sam Volkens, Grace McGhee, Katie Strumer, Liv Nikopoulos and coxswain Reagan Bieze.
