UT Men’s Soccer Set to Welcome Alumni for Nova Southeastern Match

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s soccer team is set to square-off versus the Nova Southeastern Sharks in a matchup of Conference competitors halfway through SSC play.
The Matchup: University of Tampa Spartans (4-4-1, 2-2-1 SSC) vs. Nova Southeastern University 3-4-1, 0-3-1 SSC)
Date/Time: Saturday at 7 p.m.

About the Sharks: Nova Southeastern is currently winless in conference play, sitting in last place overall in the SSC. In the Shark’s three victories this season, all against out of conference opponents, they have a goal differential of 18-0. However, in four conference games, NSU has a goal differential of 2-8. Most recently, the Sharks lost on the road 3-2 against #24 Palm Beach Atlantic. Aside from an own goal, Juanchi Nunez scored his first goal of the season for Nova Southeastern. 13 different Nova Southeastern players have scored for the Sharks this season. Look for the Sharks offense to function through Junior Sebastian Loibl. The 6’3 forward from Hutthurm, Germany leads the team in shots/shots on goal and assists. In 2018 the Sharks went 12-4-1 (7-2-1 SSC).
All-Time Series: Tampa owns a convincing 18-6-4 record all-time against the Sharks. Tampa is also 8-1-1 in the last ten meetings against NSU. Last time the two squads faced Nova Southeastern won 1-0 in Ft. Lauderdale (September 15, 2018). It was Nova Southeastern’s first victory vs UT since 2007.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
