UT Hosts Lynn University for Men’s Lacrosse Senior Night
TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 16 University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team is set to host the Lynn University Fighting Knights on senior night, Saturday, April 13that 8:00 p.m. Be sure to head out to Naimoli Field early to help the Spartans honor their 2019 senior class.

Last Time Out: The No. 16 University of Tampa Spartans defeated the No. 20 Rollins College Tars by a final score of 13-12. Jake Mosher McGraw headed the Spartans offensive efforts ending the night with four goals and one assist. Matt Vetter also had an outstanding night, stating three goals and three assists. Defensively, Colin White and Sam Collingwood each recorded a pair of caused turnovers. White also logged two groundballs, two goals and one assist. The Spartans mainly split time between keepers B.J. Borowski and Bryan Karn, Borowski faced nine shots recording two saves, while Karn faced nine shots and recorded six saves.
About the Spartans: Tampa is currently 11-4 on the 2019 season, 5-0 in the Sunshine State Conference. After falling out of the USILA national ranking for the first time since the 2015 season, UT has battled their way back into the national spotlight, and sits at No. 16 in the most recent coaches poll. The Spartans are led offensively by senior Andrew Kew. Kew has 71 points on the season made up of a team-high of 42 goals and 29 assists. Senior Matt Vetter is second on the team in points with 50. Vetter has scored 25 goals and has stated 25 assists as well. Sophomore Colin White is third on the team in points with 48. He has 40 goals and eight assists on the season. Defensively, Sam Collingwood has a team-high of 20 caused turnovers on top of his 20 ground balls, while Luke Robideaux has 13 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls. Junior Ross Dickerson remains one of the best faceoff specialists in the nation. He currently has the fifth best face-off winning percentage in all Division II with 76.6%. Dickerson has won 276-368 face-offs from the X and has a team-high of 164 recorded ground balls. Finally, at keeper, the Spartans have been primarily using the returning SSC Freshman of the Year, B.J. Borowski.Borowski has 97 saves on the season and a goals against average of 11.01.
About the Knights: The Knights are currently 9-3 overall, 4-1 in the SSC. Lynn’s record consists of one win over a ranked opponent, the No. 7 NYIT Bears (2/17/19). Most recently, the Knights defeated the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish by a final score of 15-7. This season Lynn is led offensively by #9 Xander Cosenza, #32 Mikey Urso, and #8 Nick McCabe. Cosenza has a team high of 38 points with 26 goals and 12 assists. Urso and McCabe have 17 and 13 goals respectively, and have 18 and 20 assists. On defense, Lynn is led by #2 Evan P. Kalish and #18 Greg Morissette. Kalish has 35 groundballs and 16 caused turnovers, while Morissette has 45 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. LU uses #5 Dryden Brous to take the faceoffs for the Knights. Brous has won 218-285 faceoffs from the X, and has 140 ground balls. Finally, at goalkeeper, the Knights have primarily used #6 Collin McClelland who has a goals against average of 8.74 and has 106 saves.
Series History (Men’s): The Spartans have never lost to the Knights. Tampa leads the all-time series over Lynn 6-0.
