New CEO is a Well-known Community Leader in the Tampa Bay Area
TAMPA, FL (October 9, 2019) – Following an extensive local and national search, the United Way Suncoast (UWS) Board of Directors announced the approval of Jessica Muroff as the organization’s new CEO. A committee of 10 UWS Board members and community leaders were engaged in the process leading to the decision. The UWS CEO role was formerly held by Suzanne McCormick, who was chosen in July as the US President of United Way Worldwide.

Ms. Muroff, currently the CEO of the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, is a well-known community leader in the Tampa Bay area. She is a member of the University of South Florida (USF) Women in Leadership and Philanthropy program, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Florida, CEO Council of Tampa Bay, Athena Society of Tampa Bay, and Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women. She also chairs the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay. In her current role with the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, Ms. Muroff has significantly increased the number of girls served and increased the funding base for eight counties in the area.
“We are delighted to have Jessica accept the role of UWS CEO,” said Dan Vigne, UWS Chair. “She is a proven organization leader, team builder, fundraiser and brand builder. She is already an outstanding non-profit leader in our region and will hit the track running at UWS.”
Prior to the Girl Scouts, Ms. Muroff held a number of roles including CEO of Frameworks of Tampa Bay and Manager of Account Services, Marketing with Raymond James. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and a Master of Arts in English Education from the University of South Florida.
“I am excited about the opportunity to help people in our community on an even larger scale,” said Muroff. “The work UWS is doing in education and financial stability for children and families who need our help is truly remarkable and inspiring and I am glad to become part of it.”
Jessica will begin work for United Way Suncoast on November 5, 2019.
