ICYMI– In case you missed it, both men’s and women’s basketball were on the road as they each had a Sunshine State Conference matchup.
Women’s basketball was at Saint Leo as they faced off against the Lions. The Spartans needed overtime but they were able to pull out the 72-66 victory to remain undefeated in conference play. LaShayla Wright-Ponder led the way for UT as she scored a career-high 32 points. The 32 points are the fourth most in program history and the most points scored in a single game since 2011. The Spartans defense held the Lions to their second lowest scoring output of the season, but they were unable to complete the upset as they dropped the contest 69-65. Derrick Felder led the UT offense, as the guard put up 25 points in the game.
