ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week women’s golf competed in the Barry Invitational, where they finished the tournament in the top ten. Women’s lacrosse ended the week with a perfect 2-0 record. The Spartans earned wins by UPSETTING the No. 3 Florida Southern Moccasins by a final score of 16-14, before going on to defeat the Young Harris Mountain Lions, 24-7 on Saturday. Men’s lacrosse also went undefeated last week. Tampa downed conference foe, Florida Tech, 14-9 on Wednesday before traveling to New York to defeat the NYIT Bears 16-12 on Saturday. Both the men’s and women’s track teams ran at the Florida Pepsi Relays in Gainesville, Florida. On the men’s team, Dalton Morley broke his own school record in the 800 at 1:51.41. Additionally, Ryan Poholek finished the 800 with a new personal best. For the women, both Zoe Jarvis and Sydney Rhodes set new PRs in the 5k. Beach Volleyball played in a tournament hosted by Georgia State in Atlanta over the weekend. The sandy Spartans added two wins to their overall record. They defeated both UNCW and UAB by a final score of 3-2. Also over the weekend, softball swept Embry-Riddle in their weekend series. On Friday UT won 10-7 and 5-4 respectively, then on Saturday, the Spartans defeated the Eagles 4-1. UT Baseball also won their weekend series over the Lynn Fighting Knights 2-1. The Spartans won 6-2 on Friday, lost their first game on Saturday, and then ended the weekend with a 7-3 win. Finally, women’s tennis earned a W over the weekend, defeating Broward College by a final score of 8-1.
This Week’s Events:
Baseball:
This weekend, baseball is set to host the Embry-Riddle Eagles in the weekend series on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game will begin at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, the Spartans will play a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Beach Volleyball:
The sandy Spartans will take the road on Wednesday, heading to St. Leo where they will play in a mid-week dual against the Lions. This match is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Spartans will host Florida Southern and Florida Gulf Coast for a play day. These games will take place at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively.
Men’s Lacrosse:
Men’s lacrosse will continue conference play this week, heading to SSC rival, Florida Southern, on Wednesday before traveling to St. Leo on Saturday. Wednesday night’s game will take place at 7:00 p.m. Saturday the Spartans will face the Lions at 1:00 p.m.
Rowing:
This weekend the rowing team will compete at the FIRA Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
Softball:
Softball looks to continue their 15-game winning streak against the Barry Buccaneers this weekend. Tampa will host BU at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the doubleheader on Saturday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Tennis:
On Saturday, tennis will travel to Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers for a 1:00 p.m. match.
Track:
Both the men’s and women’s track teams are set to compete at the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville. Races will take place all day on Friday and Saturday.
Women’s Lacrosse
After two games last week, UT will play once this week on Wednesday against Florida Tech. The game will take place in Melbourne at the Florida Tech Panther Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
