ICYMI: In Case You Missed It, last week women’s volleyball won their 18thSouth Region Title, defeating Saint Leo, Barry, and Palm Beach Atlantic. The squad will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2014, starting November 29th, in Pittsburgh, Pa. The men’s and women’s cross country teams also competed at the NCAA South Regional over the weekend. Both teams finished 7th, with Zoe Jarvis finishing 5thoverall. Men’s basketball competed at the Saint Leo Crossover Classic, ending the weekend 1-1. The team defeated No. 9 ranked West Florida 81-63, before falling to Auburn-Montgomery by a final score of 72-69. The women’s basketball team played one game over the weekend. They defeated Puerto Rico-Mayaguez by a final score of 89-40. Finally, both the men’s and women’s swim teams competed against the nationally ranked Saint Leo Lions on Saturday and Sunday. The men’s team defeated No. 8 ranked Saint Leo 100-64 on Saturday and 208.5-123.5 on Sunday. The women’s team defeated the No. 22 Lions 100-64 Saturday, and 252-80 on Sunday.
This Week’s Events:
Men’s Basketball:
Men’s basketball will compete in the Eckerd Thanksgiving Classic in St. Petersburg, Fla. Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the men will take on Minnesota State-Mankato at 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday they will play Virginia Union also at 5:30 p.m.
Women’s Basketball:
This week, women’s basketball will travel all the way to Fairbanks, Alaska to take on the Gannon University Golden Knights, and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks. Both games will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
