Team Effort Helps Spartans to Second-Place WGI Finish
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s golf team opened its spring where it left off, posting an impressive second-place finish at the World Golf Invitational among stiff competition.

- After winning three fall tournaments, Riihijarvi was five strokes off the lead.
- Riihijarvi carded rounds of 72 and 69, with her second-round score representing a team-best.
- Cadavid shot her best career round with a 70 on Monday, finishing in the top-10 for the second time in her career and recording a career-best finish as well.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of 18 teams competed.
- Nova Southeastern’s Sofia Garcia Austt won with a two-round score of 136.
- After placing seventh on Sunday following round one, the Spartans improved by five spots in Monday’s final round to finish as the runner-up.
- Joining team champion Nova Southeastern and UT from the Sunshine State Conference were Saint Leo (3), Florida Southern (5), Palm Beach Atlantic (13) and Embry-Riddle (15).
