TBBCA Chalk Walk with 50th Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts

Live chalk art enlivens the popular annual festival 

TAMPA, Fla. (February 24, 2020) – Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture & the Arts (TBBCA) is thrilled to continue the strong annual pARTnership with Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts for TBBCA Chalk Walk. The free, fun, family friendly live art experience will feature eight specially commissioned chalk artists who will bring their special genre of art to life Saturday, February 29th  9 a.m.to 5 p.m. at the new venue for the 50th Gasparilla Festival of the Arts at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. GFA continues through the weekend, and the final chalk art will be on display through Sunday March 1stuntil 4 PM. 

“We are proud to offer this TBBCA Chalk Walk with our long-time valued pARTner Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts at the newest waterfront park in downtown Tampa,” says Susana Weymouth, Executive Director of TBBCA. “It is a great opportunity to support talented artists of this genre and technical skill while providing a free, fun, family-friendly and accessible program for all ages and levels of art appreciation.”

“Our Board of Directors and Festival Committee are proud to present the 50thAnnual Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, one of the America’s premier juried outdoor art shows, featuring over 250 of the nation’s most talented visual and performing artists,” says GFA President, John Scheffel. “This year’s show will feature a diverse mix of work in a variety of disciplines, including ceramic, digital, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor, and wood.” In the past, the festival has attracted tens of thousands of visitors from across the region.
