TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s and women’s swimming teams will race in their final regular-season event on Friday as they play host to visiting Keiser University.

Men’s Matchup: No. 4 Tampa Spartans vs. Keiser Seahawks

Women’s Matchup: No. 6 Tampa Spartans vs. Keiser Seahawks

Date/Time: Friday at 2 p.m.

Location: UT Aquatics Center || 507 UT University Drive || North Boulevard, Tampa, Fla. 33606

Last Time Out: Both Spartan teams took first-place at the Tampa Relays on January 5. The meet totaled 20 events, including 10 for the men and 10 for the women. Tampa’s women took first in all 10 events. The Spartan men took all 10 first-place finishes.

About the Spartans: With both teams ranked high in the latest CSCAA national poll, UT is poised for another successful postseason run. In women’s action, UT has yet to lose this season and boasts wins over nationally-ranked Nova Southeastern, Florida Southern and Saint Leo by a combined score of 585-267. The Spartans were also first at the four-day Spartan Invite and the Tampa Relays. The Spartan men have defeated nationally-ranked Nova Southeastern and Saint Leo and were second at the Spartan Invite before winning the Tampa Relays.

About the Seahawks: The NAIA opponent has five men’s wins this season, including victories over Sunshine State Conference members Rollins and Florida Tech. The women also have five wins with wins over Rollins and Florida Tech, along with a loss at Lynn.

Senior Recognition: Prior to the meet, Tampa will honor a total of eight swimmers who will be competing in their final home meet for the Spartans. The seniors include men’s swimmers Felix Bartels, Mauricio Calderon, Forrest Lundy, Cameron Newton and Nick Tinucci. The women’s seniors include Victoria Horsman, Ali Lombardi and McKenzie Street.
