TAMPA, Fla. –  The University of Tampa softball team completed their first three-game sweep of the season with two one-run victories over Lynn University.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP (GAME ONE):

HOW IT HAPPENED:

TOP 6th: To lead off the inning, Corynn Miner walked on a full count. She advanced to second after Sam Worrell laid down a sacrifice bunt, however Worrell was safe because of an error. With two runners on, Maddie Farrell laced a base hit to left-center field to score Miner. 

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Dooley recorded the second no-hitter of her career with seven innings, one walk and five strikeouts. 
• Farrell has logged at least an RBI in three consecutive games, totaling seven RBI. She has multiple hits in each of the last three games.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Tampa’s on a six-game winning streak following the victory over Lynn.
• Dooley has not allowed a walk in 12 of her 17 starts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

TOP 6th: Sam Worrell connected on a solo shot to the left field corner which gave UT a one-run lead. The home run was Worrell‘s third of the season.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Dooley started in the circle for the 17th time this season, the senior went only three innings after game one’s doubleheader
• Miner came in relief and struck out five while allowng three hits in 7 total inning pitched.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• The Spartans have stolen the last 18 of 19 games at the Lynn Softball Field.
• Worrell logged 15 home runs in three years at USF. She leads the Spartans in hits (21), 2B’s, HR’s (3), RBI (17) and hits (21).
• Tampa’s on a seven-game winning streak following the victory over Lynn.
