TAMPA, Fla. –  The No. 21 ranked Tampa Spartans welcome visitors from North Carolina for the season’s first home matchup.

The Matchup: No. 21 University of Tampa Spartans vs. No. 14 Chowan University Hawks

Records: Tampa (0-1), Chowan (0-2)

About the Spartans: Coming off a weekend of difficult weather, the Spartans are looking for their first win of the season. Travis Foster recorded a team leading four shots against West Florida in Panama City Thursday night. After a cancellation on Saturday, the Spartans are eager to take the field at home for the opener.

About the Hawks: Headed into Saturday night’s matchup, the Hawks are ranked number 14. They are looking for their first won of the season, coming off of two consecutive losses. Graduate student Tren Drexhage scored the lone goal in Saturday’s matchup against Lander. The other loss was at the hands of Mars Hill, with a score of 2-0.

Series History: This is the first meeting between the two programs.
