Tampa Men’s Soccer Set for Rowdies Cup Matchup
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa is prepared to travel to the University of South Florida to play in the 41st annual Rowdies Cup matchup, which is played annually between the inter-city programs. Saturday’s preseason contest will start at 7 p.m., at USF’s Corbett Stadium.
The game will serve as a fundraiser for a local charity, with this year’s game benefiting the Children’s Cancer Center of Tampa. This year’s matchup will feature free admission, but donations to the Children’s Cancer Center of Tampa are encouraged. The Children’s Cancer Center of Tampa will collect donations onsite at the event, as well as online.
The Children’s Cancer Center is a non-profit center whose mission is to provide assistance to families with children who have cancer or chronic blood disorders. Anyone who wishes to donate may do so at the game, or online here.
UT will open its 2019 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 5 in Pensacola, Fla., against South Region opponent West Florida. The Spartans will then face Union (Tenn.) before heading home for its Thursday home opener on Thursday, Sept. 12 against Flagler at 7 p.m.
