CLEARWATER, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s swimming team took the team championship at the fifth annual Spartan Invite while its women’s team was second overall at the four-day event hosted by UT. This marks the second time UT’s men have won the event, previously winning in 2015-16.

RECORD PERFORMANCES:

MEN’S TOP PERFORMERS: 

• The 100 Free was championed by Jared Fitzgerald at 44.48. UT had the top three finishers as he was followed by Marvin Slanschek and Yannick Smith.
• Brett Saunders topped his school-record time in the 200 Breast with a mark of 1:58.39.
• The Spartans concluded the Invite with a first-place 400 Free Relay effort. A time of 2:57.96 came from Smith, Mikael Haugen, Slanschek and Fitzgerald.

WOMEN’S TOP PERFORMERS:
