TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Women’s Soccer team was defeated by Sunshine State Conference opponent Florida Southern, in a makeup match from October 9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

1st Half | (9′) The game started off at a steady pace as both teams shared possession, but Florida Southern’s, Cali Larson netted a goal past the outstretch Spartan goalkeeper to give the Moccasins an early lead. || FSC, 1-0

2nd Half | The final period included similar results as the first half, as the Moccasins offense came out of the break on the attack. (51′) After a defensive miscue by the Spartans, Mocs forward Alexa Moberley scored her second goal of the season. (70′) FSC kept up the offensive attack as Cali Larson scored her second goal of the night, from a cross into the box by Caitlyn Quaempts. (85′) In the closing moments of the game, the Mocs added another goal to the margin, as they increased their lead to 4-0. || FSC 4-0

• The Moccasins broke a three-game losing streak with tonight’s win.

UP NEXT: The Spartans look to get back on the right track heading into the Sunshine State Conference Quarterfinals on Monday, November 11. The first-round match will be against Embry-Riddle in a matchup at ERAU.
