Tampa Defeats Division I Opponent Valparaiso
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team won its second match in as many days as it played past Valparaiso University on Tuesday.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

All-time Series: This marked the first-ever meeting between UT and Valpo.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UT took all three doubles contests before winning four of the six singles events.
- The number-one doubles duo of Caroline Lozo and Dakota Busch led the wat with a 6-4 win.
- UT had no trouble at two with a 6-0 blanking by Corbin Dorsey and Maddie Stephens.
- The Spartans also claimed a 6-4 win at three doubles from Vanina Iordanova and Lilley Nice.
- Iordanova had a straight set 6-3, 6-4 victory at number one.
- The Spartans took the point in three singles as Nice won 6-1, 6-2.
- Stephens was victorious 6-4, 6-2 as four while Lozo won at five by scores of 7-6, 6-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Stephens ranks fifth all-time with 36 career singles wins as she now needs three wins to match Jenelle Morgan for fourth.
- Lilley Nice is also in the top-10 with 31 career singles victories.
- Stephens is fourth in UT history with 38 doubles wins while Nice is seventh at 32.
