TAMPA, Fla.. – No. 1 seed Tampa Spartans advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship Series in Cary, N.C., after an 11-inning win over No. 2 seed Delta State.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Delta State got on the board first with two runs in the first inning. B1 | 2-0 Delta State
• Steve Smith led off the inning by reaching first on an error followed by a ground ball from Yorvis Torrealba. Drew Ehrhard scored Smith on a single to center and advanced on a throwing error. Danny Sirven singled to the left side to score Ehrhard. T3 | 2-2
• The Statesmen scored one run on three hits and one error. B3 | 3-2 Delta State
• Ehrhard led the inning off with a single. Danny Sirven scored Ehrhard on a triple down the right-field line. T8 | 3-3
• Cole Perry got the inning started with a double to left field. Back to back to back walks by Navarette, Smith, and Torrealba scored Perry. Ehrhard scorched a single to score Navarette and Smith. T11 | 6-3

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Duke receives the no-decision after throwing 6.2 innings and giving up only two runs.
• Reynolds earns his 4th win on the year.
• Ehrhard went 5-6 on the day with two runs scored and two RBI.
• Sirven finished 2-5 with two RBI.

OUTSIDE THE BOX:

• Tampa baseball wins its 18^th NCAA South Regional Title.
• The Spartans advance to the NCAA Division II Championship Series in Cary, North Carolina, which is scheduled for June 1-8.
