SSC Presents Hana van Loock Weekly Honor
MELBOURNE, Fla. – After leading the University of Tampa women’s swimming team to a title at the Spartan Invite in Clearwater, Hana van Loock has been named the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week.
A sophomore from Essen, Germany, van Loock led Tampa to a first place finish at this year’s Spartan Invite. Individually, the German finished first in the 100 Free (50.60), second in the 50 Free (23.40), and third in the 100 Back (56.76).
van Loock’s times in the 100 Free and 50 Free are NCAA “B” qualifying times. The sophomore was part of UT’s school record 200 Medley Relay (1:42.25), which came in first place at the invitational. van Loock was also on the first place 200 Free Relay (1:33.85), first place 800 Free Relay (7:30.55), and first place 400 Free Relay (3:23.35), as well as the third place 400 Medley Relay (3:47.54). The 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay teams all swam NCAA “B” qualifying times.
