Spring Break Trip for Spartans End With Success
OAKLAND, Calif. – The University of Tampa tennis team continued its winning stint with a blanking of Holy Names University in its final match of spring break.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Final:Â Tampa Spartans 6, Holy Names Hawks 1

All-time Series:Â This was the first-ever meeting . between the NCAA Division II opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UT took all three doubles contests along with five of the six singles events.
- The top doubles team of Caroline Lozo and Dakota Busch won 7-5.
- Maddie Stephens and Corbin Dorsey played to a 6-4 win.
- At three doubles, Vanina Iordanova and Lilley Nice took the event 6-1.
- Iordanova also took the one singles event 6-1, 6-3.
- Dorsey was victorious by scores of 6-1, 6-3 at two.
- Scores of 6-4, 6-3 gave Nice the victory at the three spot.
- Lozo played to a 6-2, 6-0 five singles triumph while Busch prevailed at six by scores of 6-2, 6-3.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Stephens ranks fifth all-time with 38 career singles wins as she now needs one wins to match Jenelle Morgan for fourth.
- Lilley Nice is also in the top-10 with 34 career singles victories.
- Stephens is fourth in UT history with 39 doubles wins while Nice is seventh at 33.
