Spartans Set to Host Lynn for Senior Night
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s soccer team will face off against Lynn University for the Spartans Senior Night on Saturday evening.
The Matchup: Tampa Spartans (3-5, 2-1-1 SSC) vs. Lynn Fighting Knights (3-6-2, 0-3-2 SSC)
Date/Time: Saturday, October 19 at 6 p.m.

About the Spartans: Tampa is coming off of a 0-0 tie with Nova Southeastern, which was a hard-fought defensive battle. The Spartans have played well in conference with an SSC record of 2-1-1. Junior goalkeeper Megan Bromwell has only allowed two goals in the Spartans last five games, recording four shutouts and 21 saves during that span. Sophomore forward Moeko Morse has been the Spartans playmaker, leading the team in assists and tied for the lead in goals. Senior midfielder Ashley Loeza has been hot for the Spartans, scoring two goals in the team’s last four games. The Spartans have many offensive threats, as four players have two goals on the season.
About the Fighting Knights: Lynn has struggled in league play, posting a conference record of 0-3-2. The Fighting Knights fell to Stonehill 3-1 in their last game. The Fighting Knights offense is dangerous, scoring 34 goals in 11 games on the season. Sophomore Anniina Sankoh leads the conference in goals with 13 on the season, as well as leading the conference in shots with 54. Goalkeepers Kiara Burga and Devan Malcolm have split time in the goal this season, each allowing 12 goals.
Senior Night: The Spartans will honor seniors Emily Cady, Lisa Caprara, Syd Griner, Ashley Loeza, Lacy Nasello, and Libby Wissman before the contest.
All-Time Series: The Spartans have had the upper hand against the Fighting Knights, leading the all-time series 15-6-3. In their last 10 matchups, the Spartans have a 6-2-2 advantage over the Fighting Knights. The Fighting Knights took the win last season over the Spartans.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
