FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team played to an 8-1 victory at Broward College on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Spartans took all three doubles events before winning five of six in singles.
• The top doubles team of Caroline Lozo and Dakota Busch played to an 8-5 win.
• Winning the two doubles match was Corbin Dorsey and Maddie Stephen by an 8-3 count.
• Vanina Iordanova and Lilley Nice won three by a score of 8-2.
• Dorsey led the way in singles, winning the number two match 6-3, 6-2.
• Nice won the three match after her opponent retired in the fourth game.
• At number four, Stephens claimed the 6-2, 6-3 victory.
• Lozo was victorious by scores of 6-2, 6-1 at five.
• Six singles went to Busch by straight set scores of 6-1, 6-4.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Maddie Stephens is fourth all-time with 41 career singles victories. Next on the list is Kelsey Matthews with 45 wins.
• Lilley Nice is also in the top-10 with 36 career singles victories.
• Stephens is third in UT history with 42 doubles wins while Nice is seventh at 34.
