TAMPA, Fla.– In the latest IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll announced on Monday, March 18, the University of Tampa women’s lacrosse program holds the No. 10 spot. Tampa receives this rank after handing the University of Alabama-Huntsville their first loss of the 2019 season on Saturday. The Spartans defeated the Chargers by a final score of 15-5. 

Le Moyne College (5-0) remains in control of the IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll after collecting all 25 first-place votes this week. Adelphi (5-0), Florida Southern (7-1), West Chester (3-1) and Lindenwood (7-0) all held their rankings to keep the top five intact. Rollins (8-0) Regis (6-0) and East Stroudsburg (4-2) all bumped up one spot, while LIU Post (4-2) dropped to ninth and Tampa (6-2) hung onto the #10 spot. Bloomsburg (4-1) is the only newcomer to the poll this week, checking in at #25 after beating Mercyhurst (3-2) last week and knocking the Lakers down to #21.

The Top-25 games begin on Tuesday, when #19 Assumption travels to #20 Bentley. New Haven (#17) visits #2 Adelphi and #23 New York Tech faces #7 Regis on Wednesday, and Pace (#T-12) travels to #4 West Chester on Thursday. The weekend’s match-ups include Assumption at Adelphi, #16 Merrimack at New Haven, #22 Grand Valley at UIndy (#T-12), and top-ranked Le Moyne at Pace.

The 2019 Coaches Poll will include 25 teams and be released weekly during the regular season. The final regular season poll for the 2019 season will be published on May 6.
