Spartans Ranked Seventh in Nation; Riihijarvi, Cadavid Both Listed as Individuals

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s golf team achieved its highest-ever ranking as Golfstat tabbed the Spartans at No. 7 in its NCAA Division II poll. Kiira Riihijarvi is the nation’s top-ranked player while teammate Sofia Cadavid comes in at No. 23 in the country.
The Spartans have competed in three tournaments in the fall season, winning the Daytona State Invitational and placing second at both the Nova Southeastern and Saint Leo Invitationals.
Riihijarvi, a senior from Oulu, Finland, was the individual champion at both the Daytona State and Nova Southeastern tournaments. She is currently averaging 71.50 per round with a low round of 68 this season. Cadavid, a senior from Bogota, Colombia, recently finished second overall at Saint Leo, and was also seventh and second respectively at Daytona State and Nova Southeastern. She averages 74.38 with a low round of 71 this season.
UT has one fall competition on its slate, which is the Illinois-Springfield Invitational on October 27-30 in Río Grande, P.R.
