Spartans Keep Win Streak Alive With Victory Over William Jewell
Melbourne, Fla. – The University of Tampa women’s basketball team gains their fifth win in a row as they beat William Jewell College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Quarter | Tampa started the game with a strong push going on a quick 6-0 run. As the quarter continued to wind down, neither team were scoring much. Tampa’s defensive efforts limited the Cardinals to a field goal percentage of 15.4. || Tampa 12, William Jewell 4
2nd Quarter | Dori Nagy was the first player that scored to start the second quarter. Three minutes off the clock, neither team was still putting up much points. Julia Ingram broke a Spartans scoring drought by knocking down a corner three. Both teams went on another scoring drought for about two minutes. The two bigs, LaShayla Wright-Ponder and Nagy, had a late half spark as they combined for 19 points in the half. The half ended with Tampa shooting 50 percent from the line and forced the Cardinals to commit 11 turnovers. || Tampa 29, William Jewell 15
3rd Quarter | Melijah Sullivan got the second half going by converting on an and-one play. William Jewell went about three minutes without a basket while Tampa went on a 6-0 run shooting 3-3. Knocking down a few three pointers, the Cardinals came back and cut the lead down to five. || Tampa 43, William Jewell 38
4th Quarter | Melijah Sullivan continued her hot shooting as she put the Spartans on the board first. Tampa went on another 6-0 run that upped their lead back to 11. The Cardinals drained a three as they cut the lead back down to eight. The game ended with the Spartans going on another run which left them with a 15-point lead. || Tampa 60, William Jewell 45
