DADE CITY, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s golf team faced off with several Sunshine State Conference opponents with an eighth-place finish at the Saint Leo Invitational.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- R. Montagnino was the top Spartan individual for the fourth time of his senior season.
- The top round for the Spartans was a 73, which R. Montagnino shot in the first and second rounds. Freshman Wills also carded a 73 in Monday’s second round.
- Head coach Gary Hilton registered four individuals, including Spencer Olson (227), Patrick Montagnino (236), Nick DiMarco (237) and Steve Cacchio (240).
- A total of 12 teams competed.
- Other SSC schools joining UT and host/champion Saint Leo were Nova Southeastern (3), Palm Beach Atlantic (7) and Eckerd (10).
- Nova Southeastern’s Tomas Millet was the individual champion with a 208 (-8).

The Spartans are playing at the Panther Invitational, beginning Sunday, at Duran Golf Course in Viera, Fla. SSC opponent Florida Tech is hosting the three-day tournament.
