TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team claimed its first Sunshine State Conference victory in a blanking of Eckerd College on Monday at 3 p.m.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• UT took all three doubles contests before winning all six singles events.
• The number-one doubles team of Caroline Lozo and Dakota Busch took a 6-1 win.
• Corbin Dorsey and Maddie Stephens won 6-0 at the two doubles match.
• In number three doubles, Vanina Iordanova and Lilley Nice won 6-1.
• Iordanova also took the number-one singles event 6-1, 6-0.
• At two singles. Dorsey won 6-1, 6-0.
• Nice was victorious by scores of 6-2, 6-2 at three.
• Stephens claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory at four singles.
• The Spartans took the five and six matches 6-0, 6-0 by Lozo and Nicoline Palmgren, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Stephens is now alone in seventh place on the all-time chart with 35 career singles wins.
• Lilley Nice is also in the top-10 with 30 career singles victories.
• Stephens is sixth in UT history with 37 doubles wins while Nice is eighth at 31.

UP NEXT:
Tampa plays its second match in a four-day span on Tuesday when it plays host to Valparaiso University at 3 p.m.
