Sarasota financial investment advisor Raul Elizalde has been recognized with the 2019 Five Star Wealth Manager award which recognizes exceptional wealth managers across the U.S. in terms of client satisfaction and service. This is the second consecutive year that the national market research company Five Star Professional has selected Elizalde for this award which is based on criteria such as credentials, client retention, assets, experience, and regulatory review. Elizalde is the founder, president, and chief investment officer of Path Financial, a Florida-registered investment advisory firm, based in Sarasota. He is also a regular columnist for Forbes.com covering the economy, markets, and investing.

Elizalde manages client portfolios with a strong emphasis on minimizing their exposure to risk. In September, he was quoted in Fortune, U.S. News and World Report, and the New York Post, on the topics of a possible 2020/21 recession and the China trade war.

Earlier this year, Elizalde appeared as an expert commentator for the London-based OMFIF (Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum — an independent think tank for central banking, economic policy and public investment), as well as on the Southern California Air Talk show, a program airing on National Public Radio’s highest-rated affiliate, 89.3 KPCC.

As a former Wall Street strategist, he advised portfolio managers across the US and the globe, made presentations at the World Bank, appeared as a market commentator on television (Reuters and Bloomberg TV) and has been quoted in the financial pages of The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the Financial Times and The New York Times.

With a Wall Street career that spanned three decades, Elizalde’s experience includes positions as Global Fixed Income and Quantitative Strategist for ING Barings, Head of Research at Santander Investment Securities, and Fixed Income and Emerging Markets Strategist for Banc of America Securities. After moving to Florida with his family in 2008, he founded Path Financial, partnered with preferred account custodians Charles Schwab & Company and TD Ameritrade.
