Ryan Reynolds Dishes on His Unfortunate Visit to Marvel Studios
The ‘Deadpool’ star teases his meeting with the studio execs, jokingly saying that he ‘auditioned for the role of ‘Anthony Stark’,’ but it didn’t end up well.

Ryan Reynolds has hinted at his possible appearance in future installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Canadian actor recently teased his meeting with Marvel Studios’ execs as he took to his Instagram page on Monday, October 14 to share a photo of his alleged visit to the studio.
In the picture, the “Deadpool” star posed with a giant logo of Marvel Studios in the background. His navy blue shirt blended seamlessly with the galactic image behind him.
True to his humorous nature, he joked about his unfortunate audition during the meeting. “Auditioned for the role of ‘Anthony Stark’,” the father of three captioned it, before adding, “Didn’t come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground.”
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld trolled him in the comment section. He wrote, “Oh man, so they cancelled you in person huh? Made you fly all that way! So sad!”
Liefeld later reposted the photo on his own social media page and pointed out that Reynolds’ feet were cut off in the photo. “No Feet. A fine & fitting welcome to Marvel proper,” the artist captioned it, likely referring to the running joke that he can’t draw feet.
There have been rumors that Deadpool will be introduced in the MCU after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. “Deadpool” writer Paul Wernick once hinted at it when commenting on the future of the R-rated franchise, “The plan and the hope is that Marvel allows us to continue Deadpool in his R-rated universe that he lives in and also, hopefully over time, we get to play a little bit in the MCU sandbox as well.”
His co-writer Rhett Reese added, “Marvel’s a rich universe of both heroes and also, wonderfully, villains, so we would love to see Deadpool enter that universe in a fun way. It’s just about figuring out how and when. [Plus] Ryan [Reynolds] is very busy and the transition has delayed everything because you just don’t know. [Marvel Studios] is figuring out the next version of the MCU obviously and that’s its own beast. Then you throw Deadpool in there and the X-Men and stuff, and it’s crazy.”
In August, it was also reported that Deadpool would make a cameo appearance in the end credits scene for “Black Widow” before he makes an appearance in upcoming “Avengers 5“.
